Quick find:

Abdalan [trivia] Got time for an anecdote?
Abdalan [trivia] Well I happen to believe firmly in rote memorization, if the
information isn't in your mind then you're not likely to come by the
spontaneous connection to it that is creativity
Abdalan [trivia] But regardless, I have two privates I have to train
Abdalan [trivia] One of the things they have to learn is to recognize friendly
     v. foe vehicles, armor, trucks etc..
Rosuav [trivia] Uh huh. Ever so slightly important, in battle!
Abdalan [trivia] So for a week straight, I'd hand them a deck of cards and say
"Look at the front, try and name the vehicle, flip the card over, read the
name aloud, if it isn't the right vehicle, flip it back over and read the
name aloud, three times, repeat until you have the entire deck memorized"
Abdalan [trivia] really not that important anymore, but still part of their
     qualification
Rosuav [trivia] Did the army provide that deck, or did you make them yourself?
Abdalan [trivia] The standard enemy and friendly vehicle is a pickup truck
Abdalan [trivia] Army issue
Rosuav [trivia] Excellent.
Abdalan [trivia] But it's old, Warsaw pact and Western
Abdalan [trivia] To give you an age clue
Abdalan [trivia] Funny thing is, everything in that deck is a friendly in Iraq
[trivia] Rosuav laughs
Abdalan [trivia] The IA use WP tanks and APCs
Abdalan [trivia] So if you can recognize it, it's friendly
Rosuav [trivia] IA - Iraq Army?
[trivia] Abdalan nods
Abdalan [trivia] They also use Ford pickup trucks
Abdalan [trivia] Then again, so does the enemy
Abdalan [trivia] So that's rather moot
Abdalan [trivia] The also use opels, chevies, peugots, kias, BMW's, land
     rovers, bongos etc...
Abdalan [trivia] I need a civilian car identification deck
